Ocean Gelee Mousse

In a 2 qt. bowl, pour 3 cups boiling water over 1 (6 oz.) pkg. blue Jello, whisking until dissolved.  I added 8 drops of yellow food coloring to give me my theme color.  Whisk in a scoop at a time of Cool Whip from a 16 oz. container.  Pour into dishes.  Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.  Makes 8 5 oz. servings

Buzz:  I used different shaped glass dessert dishes.  Stemware showed to the best advantage and a deeper dish allowed for more separation of the gelee & mousse. The whipped cream topping was not totally whipped. Done just before serving, I could not hear my guests over the hand mixer and stopped short and thus a layer, not a dollop, was added to the shallow dishes.  A serendipitous slip!

  1. This dessert has me wishing summer were here now! I know I'll treat friends and family to this fun creation. Thanks for the "Buzz" about the deeper stemware. I really like the layering such a glass creates.
