Blackberry mountain pie

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and put a stick of unsalted butter in  a 3 quart glass baking dish and place it in the oven while it's pre-heating.  Mix together 
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
3/4 cup milk  
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
Add to baking dish and mix well with the butter. Then slowly stir 2 heaping cups of blackberries into this mixture until everything is well mixed. Bake  for about 45 to 55 minutes, until the top begins to brown. Take the mountain out of the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Serve it with whipped cream or cool whip.  Mmmmm.  Buzz:  peaches, blueberries or cherries can be substituted
